Queen Estora is the wife of King Zachary and the eldest daughter of the deceased Lord Governor of Coutre Province. She is seen as the most beautiful lady in the country and her hair that has been compared to spun gold. In Green Rider, her eyes are green.
Green Rider[]
Estora was the lover of F'ryan Coblebay, but because their differing social classes, their love had to be kept secret. A secret only the Green Riders knew of. F'ryan's last message to the king was concealed as a love letter to Estora, who noticed oddities and brought it back to Karigan for an explanation. The letter was then decoded by Laren Mapstone, as well as other unnamed riders, and revealed Prince Amilton and Tomastin Mirwell's plan to assassinate King Zachary. During the coup, Estora is kept in the throne room along with the other nobles and subjugated to Amilton's unwanted advances. Angered by her resistance, Amilton hits her. She is convinced by Stevic G'ladheon to applaud as Amilton crowns himself in order to placate him.
First Rider's Call[]
Estora and Karigan are friends who often talk in the castle's gardens and confide in each other. However, when Estora tells Karigan about her engagement to King Zachary at the end of the book, Karigan flees and the status of their friendship is left uncertain.
High King's Tomb[]
Stressed with the upcoming wedding and confined to the castle, Estora tries to reestablish her and Karigan's friendship, which fails because of Karigan's feelings for King Zachary. In an effort to escape the castle grounds and assert independence, she ends up being captured by the Second Empire. After weeks of being held prisoner, she is rescued by Karigan and Fergal Duff, who flees with Estora dressed as a Green Rider. She is returned to Sacor City at the end of the book after spending some time at the Golden Rudder. To bring transparency into their future marriage, Estora finally tells Zachary about her relationship with F'ryan. Despite her fears, Zachary does not break off the engagement and keeps her secret.
